Blasphemous 2 Receives Free 'The Third Sin' DLC Adding Massive Castle and New Combat Features Today

Blasphemous II: The Third Sin, a free expansion released today, adds a massive gothic castle region to Cvstodia—about a quarter the size of the combined Blasphemous II and Mea Culpa world maps. The new areas include interconnected halls such as twisting towers, a cavernous library, and a dank crypt, alongside a boss gallery that lets players replay earlier fights. The update also expands combat with a new blade-tipped whip weapon and introduces three magical Familiars that assist The Penitent One in both exploration and combat. Additional content includes new prayers, unlockable outfits, new achievements or trophies, and six new music tracks by series composer Carlos Viola. The DLC is available now on PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, PS5, and Nintendo Switch, with a PlayStation 4 release coming later.
The expansion’s story is tied to Cvstodia’s former grandeur: it takes place in a part of the castle that “once served as a refuge for the nobles, until The Miracle wrought devastation within the castle walls.”
The new blade-tipped whip isn’t just a cosmetic addition—it’s described as effective “at both medium and long ranges,” and it “enhanc[es] The Penitent One’s move set with a series of standard and special attacks to vanquish foes into dust.”
The DLC was announced during the Future Games Show 2026 before its surprise shadow-drop availability, per coverage noting the reveal timing.
For PC players, the press materials specify the storefronts included at launch: Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
