Bloomsbury Founding Boss Nigel Newton Announces Plan to Step Down in 2031

Bloomsbury founder Nigel Newton, who has led the company since its launch 40 years ago, will step down from his position as executive chairman in 2031. He will remain in the role to ensure a smooth transition, before stepping aside from the day-to-day running of the group and becoming non-executive chairman. Current chairman John Bason will become deputy chairman and will lead the search for a new CEO. The five-year succession plan aims to ensure the company continues to benefit from Newton's experience, entrepreneurial vision and deep industry knowledge.
