Several Global Companies Announce Broad Leadership Succession and Management Changes

Old Mutual said Ranen Thakurdin has held several senior finance and risk roles since joining the group in 2018, including chief accountant, general manager for group reporting and insights, head of the CFO’s office, and head of capital and balance-sheet optimisation. He is also a qualified actuary and holds CFA, MBA and FRM qualifications.
Funding Circle’s chair said the company has extended more than £18 billion in credit to over 135,000 small and medium-sized businesses during Lisa Jacobs’s tenure, while also completing the transformation plan announced in March 2024 to create a simpler, faster-growing and more profitable business.
Latrobe Magnesium’s outgoing CEO David Paterson was credited with advancing the company’s Hydromet process to operational status and achieving magnesium-oxide production; he will remain available as a consultant after his retirement if required.
Incoming Latrobe Magnesium CEO Robert Stein said he joined because independent primary magnesium supply outside China is one of the widest gaps in Western critical minerals. China produces approximately 90% of the world’s primary magnesium, which is designated a critical mineral by the United States, European Union, Japan and Australia.
Aline Germain’s expanded marketing remit builds on more than 20 years across Citroën, DS Automobiles and Jeep, including marketing leadership for Citroën and DS in the Netherlands and sales and marketing responsibilities for several Jeep, Dodge and RAM markets.
Major companies announced sweeping leadership transitions this week. Stellantis reorganized Citroën and DS Automobiles' management, expanding product and marketing roles across both brands. Old Mutual named Ranen Thakurdin as CFO designate starting January 2027, while Funding Circle revealed CEO Lisa Jacobs will step down by September 2027 after 14 years leading the lending platform.
The moves reflect a wave of planned executive transitions across finance, automotive, and technology sectors. Latrobe Magnesium also named Robert Stein as incoming CEO effective October 1, focusing on expanding Western magnesium production as China dominates the critical mineral market.
Stellantis reorganized the management boards for Citroën and DS Automobiles effective September 8, 2026. Caroline Malléus now oversees Product for both brands instead of just Citroën. Sébastien Vandelle took on customer satisfaction responsibilities across both brands. Aline Germain's marketing role expanded to include DS, building on her 20+ years leading marketing at Citroën, DS, and Jeep.
Old Mutual appointed Ranen Thakurdin, its Group Chief Risk Officer, as CFO designate starting January 1, 2027. He will formally replace CFO Casper Troskie in April 2027, pending regulatory approval. Thakurdin joined Old Mutual in 2018 and has held roles including chief accountant, general manager of group reporting, and head of capital optimization. He holds CFA, MBA, and FRM qualifications plus actuarial credentials.
Funding Circle CEO Lisa Jacobs will retire by September 2027 after leading the lending platform since its early days. Under her tenure, the company extended over £18 billion in credit to more than 135,000 small and medium-sized businesses. The board is conducting a formal search for her successor while Jacobs continues running operations through the transition. She also completed the company's transformation plan announced in March 2024.
Latrobe Magnesium appointed Robert Stein as CEO effective October 1, 2026, after a two-week transition beginning September 14. He replaces retiring CEO David Paterson, who advanced the company's Hydromet process to operational status. Stein cited a critical gap: China produces roughly 90% of the world's primary magnesium, a mineral the US, EU, Japan, and Australia designate as critical. Independent Western supply remains severely limited.
