Canary Staked TRX ETF Debuts on Cboe BZX Exchange for U.S. Investors

TRXS is described as the first U.S. exchange-traded fund to combine spot exposure to TRX with staking of the underlying assets, allowing brokerage-account investors to earn network yield without operating a crypto wallet.
Staking rewards will not be paid to investors as separate distributions; instead, the net income will accrue within the trust and increase the ETF’s net asset value and per-share price over time.
The ETF’s 1.10% annual sponsor fee is substantially higher than the roughly 0.19% to 0.25% charged by many U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, although those Bitcoin products do not include staking.
Canary Capital’s Aug. 19 S-1 amendment detailed the fund’s structure and indicated that discussions with regulators had advanced beyond the exploratory stage, while Justin Sun publicly confirmed the listing on Sept. 8.
The listing was also promoted by TRON DAO as another milestone in the network’s regulatory progress over the preceding year.
Canary Capital's Staked TRX ETF is set to debut on the Cboe BZX Exchange on September 9, 2026, under the ticker TRXS, marking the first U.S. exchange-traded fund to combine spot exposure to TRON's TRX token with staking rewards Crypto.news. The fund will stake at least 90% of its TRX holdings, allowing traditional brokerage investors to earn network yield without managing crypto wallets or private keys.
U.S. Bank will hold cash reserves while BitGo Bank & Trust will custody the TRX tokens. The fund charges a 1.10% annual sponsor fee — significantly higher than the 0.19% to 0.25% fees on spot Bitcoin ETFs — with 80% of net staking income flowing to the fund's net asset value after service costs The Block. At launch, TRX traded near $0.34 with technical indicators showing possible near-term resistance.
Unlike traditional dividends, staking rewards won't be paid out separately. Instead, the income accrues inside the trust and increases the ETF's net asset value over time Crypto-Economy. This means your per-share price should climb as the fund collects and stakes rewards. However, the 1.10% annual fee eats into gains, so staking income must exceed that cost to deliver real value.
The TRXS structure moves crypto custody into mainstream financial infrastructure. Investors use ordinary brokerage accounts instead of managing wallets or seed phrases. U.S. Bank handles cash. BitGo Bank & Trust handles TRX. This setup lowers barriers for traditional investors and creates a blueprint for other proof-of-stake tokens The Block. It doesn't eliminate price swings or regulatory risk, but it brings staking into the regulated market.
A new ETF can widen access and draw attention in ways that amplify short-term price moves. TRX was trading near $0.34 with its 50-day and 200-day exponential moving averages both sitting near $0.33 TradingView. Technical indicators showed price testing upper resistance bands, suggesting ETF-driven buying could collide with profit-taking, creating sharper swings before longer-term demand settles.
Canary Capital's August 19 S-1 amendment revealed that talks with regulators had moved beyond early exploration Crypto.news. TRON founder Justin Sun publicly confirmed the listing on September 8. TRON DAO framed the ETF debut as another sign of the network's growing regulatory acceptance over the past year. The approval signals growing comfort with staked-token products in U.S. markets.
