Czinger Unveils 21C Spyder Hypercar, Boasting 1,250-HP Hybrid and Record Open-Top Downforce

The Spyder uses the same powertrain as the coupe. A 2.9-liter twin-turbo V8 makes 750 hp on its own. Three electric motors — two on the front axle and one on the crankshaft — push total output to 1,250 hp and about 691 lb-ft of torque. The result: 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph, according to Autocar.
That 0-60 time is enough to out-accelerate a Bugatti Mistral, as Head Topics noted. The Mistral, Bugatti's own open-top hypercar, is itself one of the fastest drop-tops ever made. Beating it in a straight line is a meaningful benchmark in this segment.
The headline engineering story is BrakeNode. Czinger merges the brake caliper, suspension upright, and hydraulic fluid passages into a single 3D-printed unit. Hi Tech Hub reports this cuts unsprung mass by 1.5 pounds per corner — 6 pounds total — and boosts stiffness by up to 30%. Stopping distances drop by up to 15%.
The front corners use titanium pistons, which run cooler and weigh less. The rear corners use aluminum pistons. Both pair with carbon-ceramic rotors.
