Dassault Systèmes Acquires ArisGlobal for $2 Billion to Boost Life Sciences AI Platform

ArisGlobal generates about $200 million in annual revenue, with roughly half coming from its AI-enabled services, and the company is headquartered in Miami, Florida; the asset is owned by Nordic Capital.
Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform is being evolved into an AI-native, agentic platform with Virtual Companion capabilities that co-engineer alongside professionals and help accelerate AI-powered virtual twin deployments.
The ArisGlobal deal is framed as a natural successor to Dassault’s Medidata takeover in 2019, reinforcing a broader life-sciences AI platform strategy and ecosystem integration.
ArisGlobal focuses on pharmacovigilance, regulatory intelligence, safety and regulatory compliance for pharma via cloud-based software, serving global drugmakers and linking safety data with regulatory workflows.
Dassault Systèmes has agreed to buy ArisGlobal, a drug-safety and regulatory software firm, for up to $2 billion. The deal includes $1.8 billion in cash at closing and up to $200 million more tied to AI revenue milestones, according to MarketScreener.
The French software giant will fund the purchase entirely from cash on hand. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026 and is set to boost both revenue growth and earnings per share in its first year, Business Upturn reported.
ArisGlobal makes cloud software for pharma companies. It focuses on pharmacovigilance — the process of tracking drug safety after a medicine reaches the market — plus regulatory compliance and safety reporting. The company serves global drugmakers and links safety data directly to regulatory workflows.
The company generates about $200 million in annual revenue. Roughly half of that comes from AI-enabled services, Investing.com noted. ArisGlobal is headquartered in Miami, Florida, and is currently owned by Nordic Capital, the Swedish private equity group. The deal marks a full exit for Nordic Capital.
Dassault bought clinical-trial software firm Medidata in 2019 for about $5.8 billion. The ArisGlobal deal is seen as a direct follow-on to that move. Together, the two assets push Dassault deeper into the full drug development pipeline — from clinical trials to post-market safety.
The combination aims to create a single AI platform that links molecule research, patient data, and real-world health outcomes. Dassault frames the acquisition as the next step in its life-sciences AI strategy, integrating ArisGlobal into its flagship 3DEXPERIENCE platform, Unite.AI reported.
Dassault is reshaping its 3DEXPERIENCE platform into what it calls an "agentic" AI system. That means software that doesn't just respond to commands — it co-engineers alongside professionals in real time. The company calls this feature Virtual Companion, and it is central to its AI strategy, according to TipRanks.
ArisGlobal's tools will plug directly into this platform. The goal is to speed up what Dassault calls "AI-powered virtual twin" deployments — digital replicas of drug development processes used to model and predict outcomes before physical trials begin.
Dassault posted solid second-quarter results just ahead of the deal announcement. Total revenue rose 4% to €1.56 billion in constant currency. Cloud revenue grew 14%, and the company's annual revenue run rate hit €4.44 billion, TipRanks reported.
Those numbers give Dassault the financial confidence to make a large all-cash deal. The board voted unanimously to approve the acquisition. It still needs regulatory clearance, but the company says it remains on track to meet its full-year targets regardless, according to Business Upturn.
