Vestcor Trims Holdings in Major US Companies as Other Institutions Actively Rebalance

Vestcor Inc trimmed stakes across multiple large U.S. companies, including Goldman Sachs Group (down 6.2% to 7,618 shares), Amgen (down 34.4% to 19,353 shares), Simon Property Group (down 5.4% to 46,755 shares), Encompass Health (down 6.5% to 80,345 shares), and Prologis (down 14.0% to 145,379 shares). Despite Vestcor’s reductions, other institutional investors increased positions in several of the same names, suggesting active portfolio rebalancing rather than a broad selloff across the board. For example, investors such as Peachtree and BI Asset Management added to Goldman Sachs, while Robeco and other funds boosted holdings in Amgen. In Encompass Health, very large increases by investors including Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management were reported, alongside additional buying by other asset managers. The coverage also notes that an Amgen senior vice president sold shares in a reported transaction, adding a company-level datapoint alongside the broader institutional activity.
Amgen insider-sale datapoint: SVP Nancy A. Grygiel sold 1,237 shares at an average price of $323.73 for about $400,454.01, leaving her with 7,009 shares after the transaction (dated May 4).
Institutional ownership is extremely high across several of Vestcor’s trimmed holdings—for example, Amgen (76.50% held by hedge funds/institutions), Goldman Sachs (71.21%), Simon Property Group (93.01%), Encompass Health (97.25%), and Prologis (93.50%).
Sell-side reaction for Encompass Health: Barclays cut its Encompass Health price target from $153.00 to $140.00 while maintaining an “overweight” rating.
Encompass Health’s largest reported buyer was Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Co., which increased its stake by 3,059,159.7% in the fourth quarter—adding 3,793,358 shares to reach 3,793,482 shares valued at about $402.64 million.
In Simon Property Group, Atlantic Union Bankshares Corp reported a sharp increase, boosting its stake by 143.0% in the third quarter (buying an additional 123 shares) to total 209 shares.
