Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Revealed: New Era in AGE 1000 Promises Decade-Long Support

A new in-universe peacekeeping organization called XXX has been created to maintain order in Age 1000.
West City’s hub in Age 1000 features familiar faces in the environment itself, with Future Trunks and Vegeta appearing around the hub during previews.
The home base in Xenoverse 3 includes a customizable room where players can change their character’s appearance and decorate the space.
Exploratory movement is more free-form, with players able to jump between elevated locations rather than relying on elevators.
New City serves as the game’s hub, and players join the Great Saiyaman Squad alongside Earthling recruit Brett to drive the story.
Bandai Namco officially announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 on June 23, 2026, setting the game nearly 1,000 years in the future at Age 1000. The title promises a decade-long support cycle, with producer Masayuki Hirano calling it "a foundation for the next ten years of Dragon Ball history" Famitsu.
The game moves away from Goku and the classic Z-Fighters entirely. Players join a new peacekeeping force called the Great Saiyaman Squad in a rebuilt futuristic West City, working alongside an Earthling recruit named Brett Final Weapon The Gamer.
The Age 1000 timeline has roots in Dragon Ball Online, a defunct MMO that Akira Toriyama closely supervised. In this era, Goku and Vegeta are long gone. The world's population now mixes Saiyan, Namekian, and Majin heritage OpenCritic. This gives Bandai Namco far more creative room than retelling familiar arcs.
Toriyama's influence remains central. Bird Studio confirmed the game is "guided by extensive notes and character designs left by Akira Toriyama specifically for the exploration of the Dragon Ball world's distant future." Future Trunks and Vegeta still appear in the hub world as mentor-like figures Monster Vine Final Weapon.
The new hub is called New City, built on the ruins of a redeveloped West City. It can hold up to 200 players per instance, a massive jump from Xenoverse 2's 30-player cap The Gamer. Players move freely by jumping between skyscrapers rather than using elevators, thanks to a switch to Unreal Engine 5.
Inside the hub, players get a personal room they can fully customize — changing their character's look and decorating the space. At launch, the game offers 8 playable races and over 1,500 clothing items OpenCritic. Fans had been asking for a housing system since the original 2015 game.
Missions support up to four players at once. Bandai Namco's official investor document lays out a "Roadmap 2036," signaling a ten-year plan for updates and content Push Square. Industry analyst Serkan Toto compared the model to Genshin Impact and Destiny 2, saying the Age 1000 shift "allows for much higher creative freedom."
Xenoverse 2 sold over 10 million units by 2023. Internal projections target 5 million units in the first quarter for XV3 alone The Gamer. The game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A seasonal battle-pass model is expected to drive long-term revenue.
Fan reaction on Reddit's r/dbxv and X has been mostly positive about the hub world and housing system. But some longtime fans worry the game loses Dragon Ball's soul by sidelining Goku The Gamer. The "Great Saiyaman Squad" and the newcomer Brett have drawn the sharpest skepticism from purists.
Others see the shift as necessary. The Xenoverse 2 formula ran for nearly ten years with little change. By building on Toriyama's own Age 1000 notes and moving to free-roam mechanics, Bandai Namco is betting that a fresh setting outweighs the loss of familiar faces Final Weapon Push Square.
