AdHoc Studio released a free update and DLC for its adult comedy game Dispatch on June 17, 2026, rolling back much of the heavy censorship that had frustrated Nintendo Switch players since January. Why Switch Players Got a Worse Version at Launch
When Dispatch hit Switch and Switch 2 on January 28, 2026, players were shocked. The game had launched on PC and PS5 in October 2025 with a toggle to turn off all visual censorship. The Switch version had no such option — just permanent black bars with no way to remove them Go Nintendo.

The Style setting is where it gets funny. Players can pick Mosaic (standard pixelated blur), Blackout (the original black bars), or Chaotic — a mode that swaps explicit content for random images like filled doughnuts, the game's logo, or "strategically placed jorts." Regional Gaps Remain, Japan Gets Fewer Options
Not all Switch players get the same new tools. Players in Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia still default to full censorship. The comedic Chaotic and Mosaic style options are not available in Japan at all, based on the DLC's regional availability details My Nintendo News.
AdHoc attributed the remaining limits across all regions to Nintendo's platform rules, not their own choice. Genitalia stays covered on all Nintendo hardware. The muted audio in Invisigal's Episode 4 dream sequence also stays muted, despite a brief "stealth" patch in February 2026 that had temporarily restored it My Nintendo News.
PC and PS5 Players Get Optional Filters Too
The update is not Switch-only. PC and PS5 versions of Dispatch — which launched uncensored by default — now also get access to the new filter settings through Update 1.000.012. Players on those platforms can opt into mosaic, blackout, or chaotic styles if they want them. The default on PC and PS5 remains fully uncensored Go Nintendo.
AdHoc framed the whole rollout as an apology and a course correction. The studio called it an "investment of development time into making it right." The free DLC must be manually claimed through the eShop on Switch to unlock the new settings — it costs zero dollars but requires a deliberate download step to activate GameSpot.
