The Wolf Among Us 2 Targets 2027 Launch, While Remastered Original Arrives Late 2026

Telltale and co-developer PM Studios revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026 that The Wolf Among Us 2 is targeting a 2027 release, bringing players back to Fabletown to follow Bigby Wolf as he investigates crimes while Snow White tries to maintain order. The announcement comes after a long, troubled development history, including years of silence and shifts in studios attached to the project, which has fueled skepticism about whether the current Telltale can deliver the sequel fans have waited for. To bridge the gap, The Wolf Among Us Remastered is scheduled for the 2026 holiday season on consoles and PC, repackaging the original five-episode story with upgraded visuals, improved animation and audio, accessibility and performance enhancements, and an updated UI. The remaster will also include more than an hour of bonus material such as developer commentary, cast interviews, deleted scenes, and behind-the-scenes content. While the new trailer reaffirmed the series’ neon-noir tone, reviewers and commentators noted that the sequel’s track record is uncertain even as interest in narrative games remains strong.
Telltale and PM Studios confirmed The Wolf Among Us 2 will launch in 2027 on a wide set of platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store).
Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie said of the remaster: “With The Wolf Among Us Remastered, we wanted to preserve the original experience while introducing Bigby and the world of Fabletown to a new audience,” adding that The Wolf Among Us 2 will continue the story “while staying true to what fans have loved.” PM Studios CEO Michael Yum similarly framed the sequel as a chance to “step back into this neon noir world they’ve waited years to revisit.”
The project’s turbulence is tied to studio changes: one report notes The Wolf Among Us 2 was first announced in 2019, went quiet after the original Telltale collapsed in 2018 and was rebuilt, and that AdHoc Studio stayed attached until 2023 before “the two parted ways.” Another timeline says it was announced in 2022 and missed an expected 2023 window, later getting a 2025 release window that also passed.
For The Wolf Among Us Remastered, Telltale reiterated the five episode names—“Episode 1: Faith,” “Episode 2: Smoke and Mirrors,” “Episode 3: A Crooked Mile,” “Episode 4: In Sheep’s Clothing,” and “Episode 5: Cry Wolf”—and positioned the story as Bigby’s “first case,” where “a grisly murder reveals that something far darker is lurking beneath the surface of the city.”
