Clockpunk Action-Platformer Duskfade Confirmed as Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Title, Arriving August 13

Fireshine Games and Weird Beluga announced that Duskfade, a clockpunk 3D action-platformer, will launch on August 13, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The third-person game follows Zirian as he journeys through a world trapped in eternal night to rescue his sister from the Clock Tower while uncovering the secrets of the Master Clockmakers and the force called Despair. Gameplay emphasizes precision platforming fused with action combat, featuring movement tools like slashing, grinding, dashing, grappling, and gliding to keep momentum through traversal-focused stages. The developers describe the project as a tribute to the console-era “golden age” of platformers, drawing stylistic inspiration from franchises such as Kingdom Hearts and Jak & Daxter. A demo is available now on Steam and is also available for PlayStation 5, giving players an early look at the movement and exploration. Story and level design are linked through the idea that each enemy and challenge represents an emotional hurdle in Zirian’s coming-of-age quest to save others.
At today’s Future Games Show, publisher Fireshine unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2 version and positioned Duskfade as “a love letter to the PS2 classics,” explicitly citing PS2-era inspiration like Kingdom Hearts and Jak & Daxter.
The developers say progression is built around explorable regions rather than linear routes: each Clockmaker-created area is designed around traversal challenges and hidden paths.
Beyond rescuing his sister, the story focus includes restoring time itself and learning “the truth behind the Master Clockmakers,” framing the world’s eternal-night condition as part of a larger clockpunk mystery.
Fireshine Games is based in London and was established in 2014; it has previously published titles including Core Keeper and Shadows of Doubt and partnered on physical releases like Lies of P and Balatro. Developer Weird Beluga’s debut title, Clid the Snail, earned Best Game of the Year and Best Art awards at the 2019 PlayStation Talents competition.
