Troilus Mining Drills 1.10 g/t Gold Equivalent, Enhancing Z87 Mine Plan Optimization

Troilus Mining Corp. has drilled 1.10 grams of gold equivalent per tonne over 103 metres at its Troilus Project in north-central Quebec — the strongest result yet from its ongoing Z87 optimization program. The company released its third batch of drill results, covering 10 holes totalling 4,230 metres, as part of its 2026 exploration campaign, according to Leader-Post.
All results fall within the Z87 reserve pit, the main ore zone defined in the company's Feasibility Study. CEO Justin Reid said the results "validate what we are seeing throughout our mine plan optimization program," according to Montreal Gazette.
The Z87 program has two goals. First, it aims to upgrade "inferred" material — ore that has been identified but not yet confirmed to a higher confidence level. Second, it targets intervals from old historic drill holes that were never sampled, according to Fort McMurray Today.
Upgrading inferred material matters because it can shift ore from uncertain to bankable reserves. That directly strengthens the mine plan and can improve project economics. The Z87 pit is the core of the Troilus Project's planned open-pit mine.
The latest 10 holes cover 4,230 metres of drilling. The headline intercept — 1.10 grams per tonne gold equivalent over 103 metres — is notable for both its grade and its width. Wide, consistent intercepts make mine planning more straightforward and reduce risk, according to The Sudbury Star.
Because all results sit within the already-defined Z87 reserve pit, they do not expand the project's footprint. Instead, they refine and improve what is already there. That focus on quality over discovery is the core strategy of this program, according to Ottawa Sun.
Justin Reid, Troilus's CEO, said the latest holes confirm a consistent picture across the entire optimization program. "These latest results validate what we are seeing throughout our mine plan optimization program," Reid said, as reported by Calgary Sun.
Troilus trades on three exchanges — the TSX under TLG, the OTCQX under CHXMF, and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under CM5. The company is focused on advancing the Troilus Project, a former gold and copper mine in Quebec, toward a new production decision, according to Northern News.
This is the third batch of results from the Z87 program, meaning more are expected. The program is part of Troilus's broader 2026 exploration activities. Each new batch feeds into the updated mine plan, helping the company convert uncertain inferred resources into confirmed reserves, according to The Whig.
The Troilus Project is one of Quebec's largest undeveloped gold and copper deposits. Continued strong drilling results could support a revised feasibility case. Investors and analysts will watch future batches closely to see whether the trend holds, according to Edmonton Sun.
