Baxter International’s broader institutional activity included Geode Capital Management increasing to 13,510,205 shares (~$257.17 million), Ameriprise Financial adding to 7,638,629 shares (~$231.30 million), Russell Investments rising 35.6% to 3,410,689 shares (~$65.22 million), Thompson Siegel & Walmsley LLC advancing 12.0% to 3,328,202 shares (~$63.60 million), Bank of New York Mellon Corp opening a new position in Q2 valued at around $68.04 million, and AMG National Trust Bank’s 118,281-share stake highlighting broad institutional ownership (about 90.19% of BAX is institutionally held).
Truist Financial Corporation saw AMG National Trust Bank acquiring 35,324 shares (~$1.76 million) in Q2, with Vanguard Group, Capital International Investors, Victory Capital Management, Morgan Stanley, and Auto Owners Insurance Co also expanding or maintaining sizable positions; overall, institutions own about 71.28% of TFC.

Baxter Bros bought 2,633 shares of Markel Group, valued at about $5.14 million. Markel is a specialty insurance holding company. The firm also picked up 37,608 shares of Textron — the defense and aerospace conglomerate — worth around $3.45 million, according to Defense World.
On the credit side, Baxter Bros grabbed 64,570 shares of SLM Corporation for roughly $1.68 million. SLM, known as Sallie Mae, is a major student loan lender. The firm also took 118,281 shares of Baxter International at about $2.52 million, and 35,324 shares of Truist Financial worth near $1.76 million.

SLM Corporation attracted new money from several firms in Q2. Bank of New York Mellon Corp opened a fresh stake worth about $39.25 million. Goldman Sachs raised its SLM position by 33.4% in Q1 to 547,724 shares valued at roughly $16.09 million. Entropy Technologies LP expanded its stake by a striking 616.6%, reaching 109,485 shares.
Baxter International saw even heavier institutional buying. Geode Capital Management grew to 13,510,205 shares worth about $257 million. Ameriprise Financial held 7,638,629 shares valued near $231 million. Bank of New York Mellon Corp opened a new position in Q2 worth roughly $68 million. About 90.19% of Baxter International is now institutionally owned, according to Defense World.
In Truist Financial, Baxter Bros' 35,324-share purchase worth about $1.76 million came alongside activity from Vanguard Group, Capital International Investors, Victory Capital Management, and Morgan Stanley. Auto Owners Insurance Co also maintained a sizable stake. Together, institutions own around 71.28% of Truist Financial's shares outstanding, Defense World reported.
The pattern across all five companies tells a clear story. Large funds are actively building exposure to insurance, aerospace, credit, health care, and banking. Baxter Bros' Q2 disclosures fit squarely into that broader wave of institutional portfolio-building across major large-cap names.
