Penguins Unveil Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Headlined by Marc-Andre Fleury

The Hall of Fame will be permanently featured in a dedicated space on the FedEx main concourse level at PPG Paints Arena.

Jim Rutherford is being inducted in the Builder category for steering the Penguins to back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017 and was named NHL General Manager of the Year for his work.
The Pittsburgh Penguins announced their 2026 Hall of Fame class on four legendary figures: goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, defenseman Larry Murphy, general manager Jim Rutherford, and contributor Jack McGregor Mahoning Matters. Fleury becomes the first post-lockout era player and the first player in his first year of eligibility to earn unanimous selection, cementing his legacy after 13 seasons, three Stanley Cups, and franchise records including 691 games, 375 wins, and 44 shutouts Yahoo Sports.
The induction ceremony will take place on-ice before the November 14 home game against Ottawa Audacy. The Penguins are also relaunching their Hall of Fame with a dedicated space on the FedEx main concourse level at PPG Paints Arena, with four more members — Tom Barrasso, Jaromir Jagr, Chris Kunitz, and Ray Shero — set to be inducted next year as part of a three-year relaunch plan Mahoning Matters.
Marc-Andre Fleury, a No. 1 overall pick in 2003, anchored the Penguins through their modern dynasty Yahoo Sports. The goaltender played 691 regular-season games for Pittsburgh, winning 375 of them with 44 shutouts. He also appeared in 115 playoff games, earning 62 wins and 10 shutouts. Fleury's three Stanley Cup championships (2009, 2016, 2017) make him one of the franchise's greatest players.
Larry Murphy, a stalwart defenseman, played 410 of 421 games for the Penguins with a remarkable +102 plus-minus rating. Murphy was a cornerstone of the early-1990s championship teams. Jim Rutherford joins as a builder, recognized for assembling the rosters that won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017 Gino Hard. Rutherford was named NHL General Manager of the Year for his championship-building work.
Jack McGregor is being inducted as a contributor for his foundational work bringing an NHL franchise to Pittsburgh Mahoning Matters. He served as Penguins president from 1967 to 1970, helping establish the team in its early years. McGregor's efforts shaped the franchise's identity and paved the way for decades of success that followed.
