Allegiant Air Expands Florida Service with 9 New Nonstop Routes Starting at $49

Allegiant Air is launching nine new nonstop routes to Florida starting in February, with base fares as low as $49 one-way, according to Naples Daily News. The expansion targets travelers in New England and the Midwest looking for cheap, direct flights to the Sunshine State.
Seven of the nine routes are seasonal and connect Florida with New England states. Two year-round routes will link Orlando airports with Cincinnati, Ohio, and Grand Forks, North Dakota, TC Palm reports.
The two permanent new routes are the most significant part of the expansion. One connects an Orlando airport to Cincinnati, Ohio, starting at just $49 one-way. The other links Orlando to Grand Forks, North Dakota, with fares starting at $68.50, according to Palm Beach Post.
The remaining seven routes are seasonal. They connect Florida airports with cities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Fares on those New England routes start higher than the Orlando options, News-Journal Online reports. All nine routes launch in February.
Allegiant is not stopping at nine new routes. The airline is also adding nearly 30 new and returning seasonal flights to Florida airports in the second half of 2026, according to TC Palm. That signals a major bet on continued strong demand for Florida travel.
Seasonal flights are a core part of Allegiant's business model. The airline focuses on leisure travelers and often adds routes during peak vacation periods. The second-half 2026 additions suggest Allegiant expects strong bookings through the summer and fall seasons.
Allegiant is not the only carrier expanding in Florida. American Airlines, JetBlue Airways, and Southwest Airlines are all growing their Florida presence, according to Jacksonville.com. The moves point to rising competition for Florida-bound travelers.
Florida remains one of the most popular travel destinations in the US. Airlines are responding to that demand by adding more direct flights from across the country. More competition often means lower fares and more choices for travelers.
The $49 fare is a base price. Allegiant, like most budget carriers, charges extra for bags, seat selection, and other add-ons. Travelers should factor in those fees before comparing prices to other airlines.
The New England routes start at higher prices than the Orlando-Cincinnati flight. Exact fares for the Massachusetts and Rhode Island routes were not specified, but they are listed above the $49 and $68.50 starting points of the year-round Orlando routes, per Naples Daily News.
