L&T Enters AI Factory Business, Building India's Largest NVIDIA B300 Infrastructure

Larsen & Toubro has landed a deal worth up to $1.6 billion — roughly Rs 15,000 crore — to build India's largest single-cluster AI infrastructure, according to MarketWatch and Economic Times. The project will deploy 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs at a Chennai data centre campus run by Vyoma.AI.
The client is Together AI, a US-based cloud company focused on large-scale AI training and inference. L&T's win marks the company's formal entry into the AI Factory business — a segment that puts India on the map as a serious player in global AI infrastructure.
Vyoma.AI's Chennai campus is designed to grow to gigawatt scale. Phase 1 targets 250 MW of capacity, with 150 MVA of power infrastructure already in place for future expansion, according to Economic Times. The site combines accelerated computing, low-latency networking, and high-throughput storage on a single unified stack.
The 10,000 NVIDIA B300 GPUs will power Together AI's cloud platform. Customers will be able to train, run, and fine-tune large AI models on the same infrastructure. That kind of all-in-one setup is what the industry calls an "AI Factory" — a factory that produces AI instead of physical goods.

India's engineering sector has been watching AI infrastructure as a growth driver for years. This deal shows that ambition is now converting into real contracts.
