Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered Rises November 2026 with Unreal Engine 5 Upgrade

Atari and developer Pipeworks, with Toho International, have officially announced Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered, a ground-up remake of the 2002 kaiju arena brawler rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, launching worldwide on November 3, 2026. The remaster preserves the original’s core combat while expanding it with fully destructible city arenas, updated visuals, and an online multiplayer mode alongside local co-op. It will feature 12 playable monsters and includes unlock and progression quality-of-life improvements, letting players access monsters, stages, and gallery items more flexibly. Atari says the game will be positioned as a “definitive” modern version of the classic experience, with pricing set at $29.99 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox (with Switch 2 higher, per reports). The release date places the title in early November ahead of Grand Theft Auto 6, a window many publishers have been avoiding.
Atari’s Chief Creative Officer Mike Mika said the remake is meant “to bring the classic experience to a modern audience,” using Unreal Engine 5 to “recreate the destruction and scale of the original battles.”
The remaster will include 12 playable monsters and also folds in “content previously exclusive to specific console versions of the original release,” per Atari/Pipeworks’ technical/spec details.
Atari says the game targets 4K visuals while keeping “99% mechanical fidelity to the 2002 original,” positioning it as the “definitive” version of the kaiju arena brawler.
Gameplay details from Atari include scoring/round structure: players “earn points through both strategic fighting and large-scale environmental destruction,” and the arenas will feature destructible city locations such as Tokyo and San Francisco.
Atari also previewed the project during Summer Game Fest 2026 alongside another classic revival, Barbie Rewind (from Digital Eclipse), with both slated for November 2026.
